AMD wants to give priority to its main partners!

As you know, the situation on the graphics card market is tense. NVIDIA launched several models in quick succession, but low stocks led to a surge in prices. Then AMD came along with its RX 9000, and it’s all over. As we have seen, the brand recorded a sharp rise in market share: 45% in Japan.

Be that as it may, this does not change the situation: stocks are (very) low, if not non-existent. This is forcing AMD to play favorites with its partners. Some are described as primary and others as secondary. What influence does this have? The quantity of GPU deliveries!

AMD favours some brands and not others!

AMD seems to favour certain manufacturers when it comes to supplying its graphics cards. Sapphire, XFX, PowerColor, Vastarmor and ASUS are being pampered, while others are more or less being left out in the cold. Clearly, brands such as Gigabyte, ASRock, Acer and Yeston are being overlooked by the Reds. So if you’re actively looking for an RX 9000, you’ll have to look to your ‘favourite’ brands if you don’t want to wait too long.

In fact, the favoured brands will receive more stock of GPUs to produce their designs than the ‘shunned’ brands. So if you’re hoping to build a single-brand PC with Gigabyte or ASRock, you’ll have to be patient.

Of course, all this is to be taken with a grain of salt, but that’s what the Chinese forum Boardchannels is saying. This is the solution that AMD would have found in order to distribute the few RX 9070 XTs that would be produced. Now, whether that’s ‘ fair ‘ or not will depend on your point of view.
