Techland has released a new hotfix for Dying Light: The Beast, and it does more than just fix problems. While the update addresses a frustrating issue in the game, it also gives players some free in-game rewards.

The hotfix focuses on a problem many players had noticed since launch. Techland had previously acknowledged that some people were experiencing indoor rain and an unusual day/night cycle, which was ruining the gameplay experience for many. With this hotfix, those issues should now be resolved. At the moment, the fix is only available on PC, but Techland confirmed that console players will receive the same update soon.

What makes this hotfix special is that it isn’t just about fixing bugs. Techland has also added two rewards for players who install the update. The first is the APEX Car Skin, and the second is the Burning Wolf Axe Blueprint, which can help transform the regular axe into a more powerful weapon.

However, there is one catch with the axe: it’s only available to those who played Dying Light: The Beast during its launch weekend for at least four hours. If you qualify, both items will automatically appear in your in-game stash after updating.

In other news, Dying Light: The Beast recently sold over 1 million copies on Steam, which is a huge achievement for a brand-new game. If we look at all platforms, the game has sold over 1.5 million copies in total. The numbers were revealed in the latest Alinea Analytics newsletter, which also confirmed that 82% of The Beast players have already played the original Dying Light, and 77% of them have played its sequel. On Steam Deck, the game has been performing well too, as it’s currently at the 25th spot in the platform’s Top Played charts.
