This morning, we learned the (good) news about a motherboard from Maxsun. Indeed, the brand’s Z890 Vertex, an XOC model, is coming to Europe at a price of €299. Its main advantage over competing models from ASUS, MSI, Gigabyte and ASRock? A very low retail price.

Maxsun’s Z890 Vertex arrives in Europe at €300!

With this motherboard, Maxsun offers a reference in ATX format. It’s equipped with a Z890 chipset and a LGA-1851 socket. A Core Ultra 200K can therefore be easily mounted on this model. What’s more, the processor benefits from large power supply stages with 20+1+1 phases.

As you can see, connectivity is quite extensive, featuring three PCIe, two of which are 5.0 x16 and one 4.0 x16. For storage, there are four M.2s, one of which is PCIe 5.0 x4, while the rest are PCIe 4.0 x4. Finally, four SATAs round off the list.

The interesting part, however, lies in the memory section, which boasts just two DDR5 slots. These can accommodate up to 128 GB of RAM, but the frequency can reach 9200 MT/s. It remains to be seen how this part has been worked on to promote frequency rise.

Unlike its rivals, the card is a little less feature-rich than its competitors’ models, though we still find what’s needed for out-of-case booting, with a small LED debug. The I/O cache features a screen for monitoring PC-related information. It remains to be seen how useful this is in the event of extreme OC under nitrogen, with all the insulation that goes with it.

Well, if this card doesn’t have the same aura as an ASUS Apex or a Gigabyte Aorus Tachyon, it does have the merit of being offered at half the price of its competitors. So, considering the price, it’s worth giving in to temptation, and who knows, it might just turn out to be an excellent surprise!
