Valve’s Steam Deck is the go-to handheld gaming console for many due to the vast library of games available and the fact that you can use it as a mini PC. The number of games that can run on the Steam Deck is ever-increasing, and REMATCH, which is an upcoming 5v5, Rocket-League-esque (with humans), football/soccer game, has now got an official ‘Playable’ rating on the Deck.

Now for the good news, the title has been officially tested by Valve and is rated as Playable. It falls short of a full ‘Verified’ status due to a few reasons, namely the reliance on keyboard or touchscreen controls and small text elements in-game.

As per the compatibility details, touchscreen controls might be required to activate the launcher; however, a workaround is to bring up the keyboard on the Steam Deck. Overall, every addition to the Steam Deck library is great and gives users more options to explore.

When you think of a football/soccer game, the first title that comes to many people’s minds is FIFA (now known as EA Sports FC). However, to bring something new into the sports gaming landscape, Sloclap is set to release REMATCH on June 19th, 2025.

Currently, it is available for pre-purchase, but we recommend waiting for the game to launch and checking out the reviews before purchasing it. The game generated a decent amount of hype from a recent beta test, and it looks to provide a promising entry to the genre, albeit less simulation-like and more arcadey in an enclosed arena. Hence, the comparison to Rocket League.
