The ProArt case series has been in the news a lot lately. Last July, we learned that ASUS was working on a PA401 Wood Beige, which resurfaced this week. Now, in a press release, the brand is once again promoting its PA602 Wood, which we last told you about back in October. Well, this time it looks good, as the case appears to be commercially available.
PA602: ASUS talks about it again, but still no price or launch date…
Broadly speaking, the PA602 Wood retains the shape and dimensions of the original model. However, it now incorporates wooden elements, notably on the front panel and top section. For example, the top handles are now covered in wood.
In terms of dimensions, then, we’re dealing with a large case measuring 245 (W) x 593 (D) x 560 (H) mm. Internally, we have a generous space which, based on the original version of the case, can accommodate an E-ATX motherboard. The question now is whether it will be compatible with backpanel models… Otherwise, for the graphics card, we have a clearance of 450 mm, compared with 190 mm for the ventirad and power supply.
Of course, this case should offer substantial airflow, since it incorporates three fans: two 200 mm intake fans on the front and one 140 mm exhaust fan on the rear. Three 140 mm fans can be added at the top, while compatibility with 420 mm watercooling radiators is assured.
This is a box that offers a number of safety features, such as a lockable power button. From then on, it will no longer be possible to operate it, which comes in handy when you’ve got kids running around the PC a bit too much. There’s also a compartment for storing WiFi antennas, for a cleaner desktop, etc., etc.
As for price, Alternate’s prices start at €220 with a glass panel and €235 with a metal panel… It’s about time, after all, we were already hearing about it at CES 2024…
