We recently tested the AIO NZXT Kraken Elite 420 RGB watercooling kit. Featuring a 420 mm heatsink, the NZXT Kraken Elite 420 RGB does pretty well when it comes to heat dissipation, even for the most demanding processors. During tests, we were able to observe this with an Intel Core i9-13900K at full load, a processor that is used to making people sweat. Its three 140 mm fans, adjustable from 500 to 1800 RPM, generate optimal airflow while limiting noise to 35 dB. This kit is therefore interesting for muscular configurations, allowing you to strike a balance between power and silence. Here’s an unboxing to find out how the kit arrives and what’s inside, followed by a set-up so you can judge the product in action.

NZXT Kraken Elite 420 RGB: an attractive kit

This kit’s main asset is undeniably its high-quality IPS LCD screen. This screen is perfectly integrated into the pump, offering satisfactory brightness and a resolution that makes it fully functional. What’s more, thanks to the CAM software, you can customize it as you wish, which is a real benefit.

Beyond the screen, NZXT relies on a CoolIt base and offers an impeccable finish. On the one hand, the heatsink is carefully designed, with no visible rivets. On the other, cabling is optimized thanks to fans sharing a single frame. While this is not our preferred solution – since the failure of one fan would necessitate replacement of the entire assembly – it does reduce the number of cables in the assembly, with a single connector to link to a single harness. Our full review available here.
