Intel’s high-end GPU, the BMG-G31, could well be coming to market soon. However, it would not be in the form of a card for the general public. At least, not initially. In fact, it would primarily be in the form of professional cards called Arc Pro B65 and Arc Pro B70. In any case, this GPU is expected to arrive sometime during the first quarter.
BMG-G31: the chip available in the form of Arc Pro B65 and Arc Pro B70!Â
For now, these would primarily be professional graphics cards. The Arc Pro B70 would be the most complete version, as it would use a GPU with 32 Xe2 cores, which would contain a total of 4,096 FP32 shaders. As for memory, there is talk of 32 GB of GDDR6 memory coupled with a 256-bit memory bus.
In contrast, the Arc Pro B65 would adopt a configuration halfway between the Arc Pro B60 and the Arc Pro B70. In this case, we would see a castrated GPU with 20 Xe2 cores, or 2,560 shaders. As for the memory, we would have the same 32 GB of GDDR6 and 256 bits as the Arc Pro B70.
In any case, the arrival of this pro version GPU does not mean that the consumer version, the hypothetical Arc B770, will be coming soon. In fact, initial reports are not very encouraging, as Intel’s partners have received the pro version chips for internal testing and design trials. The consumer version is still nowhere to be seen.
It’s not impossible that the card will never see the light of day in the gaming sector. The timing is starting to get complicated, while the competition is already well established. In our opinion, this chip will only be available for the professional sector. By offering low prices, Intel has managed to carve out a nice niche for itself with its Arc Pro B50 in the pro/workstation segment, so why not continue?
